These Terms of Use govern your use of BlendED’s website, learning platform, community, programs, and related services. If you buy a learning plan, Plans and Payments and What Your Plan Includes govern it as well. By creating an account, or by checking the acceptance box at checkout, you confirm you have read and agree to them.

Using the Platform

This part covers your account, how to behave here, what you post, and what we own. It applies to everyone, whether or not you have bought a plan.

Who this agreement is between

These Terms of Use are a binding agreement between you and BlendED, 245 Main St, Cambridge, MA 02142.

They govern your use of our website, learning platform, community, programs, and related services — together, the Services.

If you buy a learning plan, Plans and Payments and What Your Plan Includes govern it as well.

By creating an account, or by checking the acceptance box at checkout, you confirm you have read and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

Our Privacy Policy and Cookies notice form part of these Terms.

Words we use

  • Plan — a learning plan you buy from us.
  • Plan Year — twelve months from the plan start date in your order confirmation.
  • Program — a PBL or MasterSeries offering in our published catalog.
  • PBL — a project-based program built on a brief from a working lab or company.
  • Concentration — an AI+X direction in which programs and the certificate are organized.
  • Evaluated — completed, and assessed in writing by the expert who set or supervised the work.
  • On-Campus Experience — the in-person module of a Plan, delivered in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
  • Portfolio — your AI+X Capability Portfolio. See Your work and your Portfolio.
  • GTC — the AI+X Global Talent Community.
  • Order confirmation — the record we send when you buy, stating your Plan, price, payment option, start date, and which version of these Terms you accepted.

What we provide

We provide project-based and mentor-guided programs in AI applied across fields, delivered online and in person, together with the platform and community that support them.

The Services may include:

  • Online programs, live sessions, and recorded materials
  • Project briefs, assessments, and written capability evaluations
  • Your Portfolio and the records inside it
  • The AI+X Global Talent Community, its events, and its content
  • On-Campus Experience sessions, for Plans that include them

We may add, change, or withdraw features and programs. Where a change affects something your Plan commits us to, see What your Plan commits us to.

Some parts of the Services may be offered as previews of new features. These are provided as they are, and may change or stop at any time.

Your account, and how age works

You may create an account if you are 13 or older.

If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must consent to these Terms and is the contracting party for any Plan. You may use the Services as a permitted user under that Plan.

Taking part in an On-Campus Experience requires you to be 18 or older on the first day of the session. There is no guardian-consent alternative for on-campus participation.

Give accurate registration information and keep your login details private. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Accounts are personal, and may not be shared, sold, or transferred.

Tell us at programs@blendedlearn.org straight away if you think someone else has got into your account.

We may suspend or close an account that gives false information, breaks these Terms, or is used fraudulently.

Closing your account. You may close your account at any time by writing to programs@blendedlearn.org. Export your Portfolio first — you can do that at any time.

Closing your account does not end an active Plan or cancel payments you still owe. See If you miss a payment and Refunds and Cancellation.

How to behave here

You agree not to:

  • Post or send anything unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or harmful
  • Harass, abuse, threaten, or discriminate against other participants, instructors, hosts, or staff
  • Interfere with the Services, or with other people’s use of them
  • Get into accounts, systems, or content you are not entitled to, or probe or test our security
  • Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the Services, or point bots or automated tools at them, without our written permission
  • Copy, record, or redistribute live sessions or program materials
  • Use the Services or their content to build or train something that competes with us
  • Use the Services for advertising, recruitment, or solicitation without our consent
  • Drink alcohol or take controlled substances during any session, online or in person

Live sessions. We may record sessions so participants can review them. Do not record sessions yourself. Behave in a live session as you would in a professional room.

If your Plan says unlimited, it means unlimited. There is no cap. But it assumes you actually show up. If you register for a program and do not attend, we may withdraw you so the place goes to another student. You can register again later.

Breaking these rules may cost you content, access, or your Plan. See When we can end a Plan.

Doing your own work

Evaluations, certificates, and letters are records of what you can demonstrably do. They are worth something only if the work behind them is yours.

Do not submit work that is not your own, misrepresent where it came from, or use AI tools in a way a program’s rules restrict without saying so.

Where we find work was misrepresented, we may withdraw the evaluation, certificate, or letter it produced, remove the Portfolio entry, and end your access. No refund is due.

What you post

The GTC and our platform let you post projects, comments, and other content.

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, display, and distribute it inside the Services so the community works. That licence ends when you delete the content — except for copies other people have already shared, and backups we keep for a reasonable period.

Use outside the Services — marketing, sales materials, public pages — is not covered by that licence. It needs the separate consent described under Your work and your Portfolio.

You are responsible for what you post. Do not post anything you do not have the right to share, including other people’s confidential or personal information.

We may remove content that breaks these Terms. We do not review everything posted, and we are not responsible for what other people post.

Suggestions you send us. If you send us ideas about how to improve the Services, we may use them without owing you anything. This does not apply to your project work, which is covered under Your work and your Portfolio.

What we own

We and our content providers own the platform and its materials — program content, project briefs, assessments, evaluation frameworks, software, databases, site design, logos, and brand elements.

Your access does not transfer ownership. You may use materials for your own learning only.

You may not copy, redistribute, resell, publish, modify, or reverse-engineer our materials, and you may not use our trademarks without our written permission.

Copyright complaints. If you believe something on the Services infringes your copyright, write to programs@blendedlearn.org and tell us: what work you say is infringed, where the content sits on our Services, how to contact you, and that you believe the use is not authorized and that what you have told us is accurate.

We remove or disable infringing content when a valid complaint is made, and we may close the accounts of repeat infringers.

Emails we send

We send you messages about your account, your Plan, and the programs you are enrolled in. These are part of the Services, and you cannot opt out of them while your account is active.

Marketing messages are separate. Unsubscribe whenever you like — it does not affect your Plan.

Privacy and cookies

Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect and how we use it. Our Cookies notice explains what we set and how you control it.

We apply reasonable security measures. No system is completely secure, and we cannot promise there will never be a breach.

The Services may link to third-party sites and tools, including payment providers and video platforms. We do not control or endorse them, and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or security. Their terms govern your use of them.

When the platform is unavailable

We aim to keep the Services running, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. We may suspend access for maintenance, for security, or for reasons outside our control.

Sanctions and export rules

You may not use the Services if you are barred from receiving them under trade sanctions or export control laws.

Accessibility

We work to make the Services usable for everyone. If you need an adjustment to take part in a program, write to programs@blendedlearn.org and we will look at what we can do.

Plans and Payments

This part covers how a Plan starts, what you pay, and what happens if a payment is missed. It applies once you buy a Plan. Refunds have their own section — see Refunds and Cancellation.

In short. Your Plan runs for twelve months and does not renew by itself. Paying monthly is a commitment to the whole fee, not a subscription you can stop. The $500 deposit counts toward your fee and is not refunded. Refunds are available only before your plan start date. Miss a payment and you get 14 days’ grace, then access pauses; one 60-day pause is available on request. This summary is here to orient you — the sections below are what actually govern.

In this section

How your Plan starts

You buy a Plan online. The contract is formed when we send your order confirmation.

Your order confirmation states your Plan, price, payment option, start date, and which version of these Terms was in force when you bought. That version governs your Plan for its whole Plan Year, even if we publish a newer one later.

Plans do not renew automatically. A Plan ends when its Plan Year ends. Carrying on after that is a new purchase.

The $500 deposit

You pay a $500 deposit when you accept your plan proposal.

  • It counts toward your fee — it is not an extra charge.
  • It is not refunded — except where local law requires otherwise. See Extra rights in some countries.
  • It holds your place and your quoted price for 14 days. If you have not completed enrollment by then, the deposit expires and the quoted price is no longer held.
  • On monthly plans it is applied to your final payment, not your first.

What you pay, and how

Fees are listed under The Plans in detail. They are in US dollars and exclude taxes, which you pay where they apply.

You can pay in one of three ways.

  • All at once — the full Plan fee at enrollment. This costs less.
  • Monthly — a fixed number of monthly payments. The total comes to more than paying at once. All of it is owed for the full Plan Year, however much of the Plan you actually use.
  • Through a financing provider — where we offer one, that provider’s terms govern your arrangement with them. What you owe us does not change.

Paying monthly is not a subscription. It is the Plan fee, spread over time, and it is not cancellable at will.

Your payment term and your Plan Year are two different things. The payment term is how many monthly payments you make. The Plan Year is always twelve months from your start date. On the AI+X Concentration Program the payment term is six months and the Plan Year is twelve — so your payments finish first, and your access carries on for the rest of the year.

The lowest monthly payment we offer is $1,090. We do not go below that.

If we agree something not listed under The Plans in detail, your order confirmation states its fee, what is included, and how long it runs. Everything else in these Terms still applies.

If you miss a payment

Here is exactly what happens, in order. It is set out in advance so none of it has to be negotiated at a bad moment.

  • First, 14 days’ grace. Your access continues. We get in touch.
  • Then access pauses, if the payment still has not been made. Your Plan Year keeps running.
  • You can request one formal pause of up to 60 days, once per Plan. Your Plan Year is extended by however long the pause lasts.
  • If payments stop for good, the Plan ends.

If your Plan ends that way:

  • You keep everything you have already earned — completed work, written evaluations, certificate progress
  • Your deposit and the payments you have made are not refunded
  • The remaining payments are cancelled. You owe nothing further
  • Access to programs you have not started ends

We do not work out refunds based on how much time you used or how many programs you attended.

Refunds and Cancellation

When a refund is available, when it is not, and what happens to your deposit. This is the only place our refund terms live — there is no separate refund policy page.

Refunds are available only before your Plan starts.

  • Before your plan start date — you get back what you paid above the deposit. The deposit is not returned.
  • On or after your plan start date — no refund.
  • Unhappy with the content, your evaluation results, or your own performance — no refund.
  • You broke these Terms, including the rules under Doing your own work — no refund.
  • You did not use the Services, missed sessions, or had a schedule clash — no refund.
  • You bought through a third-party marketplace or provider — their refund policy applies. Ask them.

Ask in writing at programs@blendedlearn.org. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 7–10 business days.

What Your Plan Includes

This part covers what we are actually committing to — the counts, the on-campus module, what we promise and what we do not, who owns your work, and the full details of each Plan.

What your Plan commits us to

Your Plan commits us to counts within your Plan Year — how many evaluated programs, how many On-Campus Experience sessions, how many mentor calls, how many letter submissions.

It does not commit us to particular dates, particular programs, or particular people.

Unlimited online access. Where a Plan includes unlimited online programs, you can enroll in any scheduled online Foundation or Concentration program during your Plan Year — subject to published schedules, prerequisites, and registration windows. There is no cap. Programs we add to the catalog during your Plan Year are included. Every program you complete is evaluated.

Switching lanes. You can move once between the AI+X Research Journey and the AI+X Industry Journey. It has to be within the first quarter of your Plan Year and before your second quarterly call, and it depends on capacity.

If the calendar changes. Our published calendar may change. We may move a program, change how it is delivered, or replace it with an equivalent one. If your Plan names a role — a research mentor, an industry coach — and that person becomes unavailable, we assign a replacement of equivalent standing within 30 days. The number of calls you get does not change.

The On-Campus Experience

The On-Campus Experience is the in-person module of a Plan. It is not sold separately and carries no separate price.

  • Length — two weeks per session.
  • Projects — one evaluated PBL per participant per session, chosen at registration from the published menu.
  • Included every session — at least one lab, startup, or company visit, and at least one small-group roundtable.
  • On the AI+X Concentration Program — one session within your Plan Year.
  • On a Journey — one session guaranteed within your Plan Year, plus additional sessions with priority booking where there is capacity. We do not promise a number of additional sessions.
  • Age — you must be 18 or older on the first day of the session.
  • Before you can go — your account has to be current, and you need to have made at least six monthly payments or paid in full.
  • Separate document — you sign the OCE Participation Annex at registration.

Travel, visas, and costs are yours. You arrange and pay for your own travel, accommodation, insurance, and visa. Accommodation is not included in any Plan unless your order confirmation says otherwise. Immigration decisions are made by governments, not by us.

If your visa is refused, your session access rolls to the next available window inside your Plan Year or a reasonable period after it, or converts to the online equivalent. A refused visa is not a refund event, because the On-Campus Experience has no separate price.

What we promise, and what we don’t

We guarantee the structure of your Plan. We do not guarantee outcomes that other organizations decide — those belong to journals, universities, and employers.

Specifically, and in any language:

  • Papers. We do not promise any paper will be accepted or published. We commit that one scoped paper is completed and submitted, with guided submission strategy.
  • Internships and externships. We do not promise any internship, externship placement, job offer, or admission. Eligibility for an externship is earned through your evaluated capability record. We commit to preparing you — your portfolio, a résumé that reflects your evaluations, and interview practice. Which company or project, whether a host takes you, and everything after that is decided by them.
  • Named organizations. We do not promise that any named organization will accept, employ, or admit you.

If an employee, agent, referral partner, or anyone else tells you something that conflicts with What we guarantee, and what we don’t, it does not bind us.

Your work and your Portfolio

You own your work. You keep ownership of the original work you create in our programs.

Your Portfolio is the structured record of your evaluated work — each completed project, its written expert evaluation, your certificate, and your letters index.

  • What gets in — an entry appears only where there is completed work and a written expert evaluation. Incomplete work stays a private draft.
  • It is yours permanently — and you can export it at any time.
  • Hosting — GTC membership provides hosting, updates, and new entries. Ending your membership does not remove work you have earned.

Three levels of visibility. You consent to each one separately.

  • Private — only you see it. This is the default.
  • Shareable or public — anyone with the link, or anyone at all. Your choice, and you can change it whenever you like. If you are under 18, it is your guardian’s choice.
  • Used by us as an example — shown to prospective students and partners. This needs separate written consent for each use, and we will de-identify it if you ask.

We do not use your work as an example without that separate consent.

What you licence to us. You give us a non-exclusive licence to host, display, and administer your work so we can run the Services and produce your evaluations, certificate, and letters. It does not extend to promotional use, which needs the separate consent above.

When we can end a Plan

We may suspend or end a Plan for breaking these Terms, for fraud, for non-payment, or for conduct that puts other people at risk.

Where we end a Plan for one of those reasons, no refund is due. Work you have completed and had evaluated stays yours.

The Plans in detail

Fees are in US dollars. Every Plan runs for a Plan Year of twelve months. The payment term is how many monthly payments you make, and it can be shorter than the Plan Year.

AI+X Concentration Program

  • Pay at once — $6,290
  • Pay monthly — $1,090 × 6 payments, $6,540 in total
  • Payment term — 6 months  ·  Plan Year — 12 months

You get:

  • 1 Foundation unit — MasterSeries or PBL
  • 2 PBLs in your concentration
  • 3 to 4 evaluated projects in total, each with a written expert evaluation
  • 1 On-Campus Experience session in the Plan Year
  • Recommendation letters earned through evaluated work, submitted to 3 institutions
  • 1 AI+X Certificate on completing your concentration

AI+X Research Journey

  • Pay at once — $11,990
  • Pay monthly — $1,090 × 12 payments, $13,080 in total
  • Payment term — 12 months  ·  Plan Year — 12 months

Everything in the Concentration Program, plus:

  • Unlimited online Foundation and Concentration programs
  • 4 quarterly calls in the Plan Year with a named research mentor
  • 1 scoped research paper, completed and submitted
  • 1 mentor recommendation letter, earned on completing the research arc
  • 1 On-Campus Experience session guaranteed, plus additional sessions with priority booking where there is capacity
  • 1 presentation slot at a demo day or symposium

AI+X Industry Journey

  • Pay at once — $11,990
  • Pay monthly — $1,090 × 12 payments, $13,080 in total
  • Payment term — 12 months  ·  Plan Year — 12 months

Everything in the Concentration Program, plus:

  • Unlimited online Foundation and Concentration programs
  • 4 quarterly calls in the Plan Year with a named industry coach
  • 1 guided externship opportunity — eligibility earned through your capability record, usable during your Plan Year and for 3 years after
  • 1 founder or professional reference, earned on completing the externship or presenting at demo day
  • 1 public portfolio page, maintained through GTC membership
  • 1 On-Campus Experience session guaranteed, plus additional sessions with priority booking where there is capacity
  • 1 presentation slot at a demo day or symposium

We may offer arrangements not listed here in individual cases. Where we do, your order confirmation states the fee, what is included, and how long it runs, and it governs.

What we guarantee, and what we don’t

We guarantee these, because we control them:

  • Your programs run, in the counts listed under The Plans in detail
  • Every program you complete gets a written expert capability evaluation
  • Your AI+X Certificate on completing your concentration
  • On a Journey, four quarterly calls per Plan Year with a named mentor or coach
  • If a named person becomes unavailable, a replacement of equivalent standing within 30 days, with your call count unchanged
  • On the Research Journey, one scoped paper completed and submitted, with guided submission strategy
  • On the Industry Journey, one guided externship opportunity, and preparation for it — portfolio, résumé, interview practice
  • Recommendation letters earned through evaluated work, submitted to three institutions
  • On-Campus Experience access on the terms above
  • On a Journey, a presentation slot. The slot is guaranteed. How the audience reacts is not
  • Permanent ownership and export of everything you complete

We do not guarantee these, because other people decide them:

  • Whether any journal accepts or publishes your paper
  • Admission to any school or program
  • Any internship, externship placement, or job offer, or whether a host accepts you
  • Visa decisions
  • Whether any specific company, lab, or individual will work with you

This part covers the limits on what we are responsible for, what happens if we end up in a dispute, extra rights you may have where you live, and how we change these Terms.

In this section

What we don’t warrant

Except for what these Terms and What we guarantee, and what we don’t expressly state, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available.”

We disclaim all other warranties to the extent the law allows — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that they will produce any particular professional or academic result.

Nothing here limits what we have guaranteed.

Limits on our liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including lost data, lost opportunity, or business interruption.

Our total liability under these Terms will not exceed what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Some places do not allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

If you cause a claim against us

You agree to cover BlendED, its officers, employees, and affiliates against claims arising from your breaking these Terms, your misusing the Services, or a third-party claim about content you provided. This continues to apply after your account or Plan ends.

If we disagree

Which law applies. Massachusetts law, leaving aside its conflict-of-law rules.

Talk first. Before starting anything formal, write to programs@blendedlearn.org describing the dispute and what you want. We will do the same. Give it 30 days.

Arbitration. If that does not resolve it, disputes go to binding individual arbitration in Massachusetts. You and we both give up the right to a jury trial and to take part in a class action.

You can opt out of arbitration. Email programs@blendedlearn.org within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Opting out changes nothing else.

Small claims. Either of us can bring an individual claim in small-claims court instead.

Your local rights come first. Where the country you live in gives you consumer rights that cannot be signed away, those rights apply and nothing in this section reduces them.

Extra rights in some countries

European Union and EEA. You can withdraw within 14 days of buying — unless you asked us to start the Services within that period and acknowledged that starting them ends your right to withdraw. Write to programs@blendedlearn.org. Approved refunds are issued within 14 days.

United Kingdom. The same 14-day cancellation right, on the same basis.

Where a country’s rights conflict with anything else in these Terms, those rights govern for people living there.

When we change these Terms

We may update these Terms. We post each new version with its effective date, and email account holders about significant changes.

Changes to Using the Platform and to Legal take effect for everyone from the date they are posted.

Changes to Plan terms do not affect a Plan you have already bought. The version you accepted governs your Plan for its Plan Year. Changes apply to new purchases.

Other terms

This is the whole agreement. These Terms, your order confirmation, the Privacy Policy, the Cookies notice, and — if you take part — the OCE Participation Annex are all of it. They replace any earlier statement, proposal, or promise, including anything said by referral partners or agencies. Our refund terms are the ones under Refunds and Cancellation.

Referral partners are not us. Agencies and other referral partners may introduce students to us. They are not our agents. They cannot change these Terms or make commitments on our behalf.

If one part fails, the rest stands. If a provision turns out to be unenforceable, everything else stays in force.

Transferring. You may not transfer your Plan. We may assign these Terms in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Things outside anyone’s control. Neither of us is liable for delay or failure caused by events outside reasonable control. Where an in-person session is affected, the On-Campus Experience terms apply.

What survives. These keep applying after your account or Plan ends: How to behave here · Doing your own work · What we own · What you post · Your work and your Portfolio · and, under Legal, What we don’t warrant, Limits on our liability, If you cause a claim against us, If we disagree, and Other terms.

How we reach each other. We contact you at the email on your account. You contact us at programs@blendedlearn.org.

Language. These Terms are written in English. Translations are for convenience. Where local law requires the local-language version to govern, it governs.

Every version we publish stays available at its own address, so you can always check what you agreed to on the day you bought. Your order confirmation records which version that was.

Changes to Using the Platform and to Legal take effect for everyone from the date they are posted.

Changes to Plan terms do not affect a Plan you have already bought — the version you accepted at purchase governs your Plan for its Plan Year.
